Welcome to The Charleston School of Polo and Riding. We are located at Ravenswood Plantation, off Chisolm Road on Johns Island. Just a short drive from downtown Charleston, and minutes from I-526 and Kiawah Island, we are currently the only school in the Charleston area to offer English riding and polo lessons to students ages 8 through adult, in a regulation size arena.
If you have ever had the urge to try the fantastic game of polo, or just want to learn to ride for fun, you have come to the right place. Every element of polo and riding, from the fundamentals of horsemanship to hitting technique and game strategy, is introduced in your choice of either a private or group setting. We welcome all skill levels and supply the horses and all of the equipment needed.
OUR MISSION
At CSPR, it is our mission to provide people the opportunity to learn about horses; to ride and play polo, and to do it within a safe and tranquil setting. With hundreds of acres of shady oaks, green pastures, and abundant wildlife, Ravenswood Plantation is the ideal setting for our school and club. Whether your lesson is in the arena or out around the plantation, by yourself or with family and friends, you will never be without something new to learn, see and enjoy. We feel very fortunate to have Ravenswood be home to CSPR, and hope you can find the time to come out and see for yourself what a special place it is. We promise, you will not be disappointed.
